2 marathons in the last month plus all the associated training, has brought me to the 500 mile marker, a distance which is represented on my Mileometer by the Swiss city of Zurich.

It's a small but very beautiful place, you can stand in most parts of the city and see Lake Zurich and of course The Alps in the background. And the Swiss people's reputation for sophistication is well deserved. My visit there a few months ago corresponded with an event called the Long Night Of Hotel Bars which is the one night of the year all the top class hotels open up their bars to everyone.

This is the poshest pub crawl you'll ever go on, being transported between one 800€ per night establishment to another, via limousine if you're lucky enough to flag one offering a free service for the night.
